Of the 7.5 hectares owned by Thierry Poulleau, almost half of the domaine is in the small and relatively rare appellation of Côte de Beaune at 360m altitude above Beaune (not to be confused with the more widely grown appellation Côte de Beaune-Villages).

The single-vineyards are planted on filtered red earth, over a lava subsoil.
